안케패스작전OPERATION AN KAE PASS-------


안케패스작전 (1972. 4. 1 부터 1972. 4.26 까지)

참가부대 :기갑연대.

적군: 월맹군제3사단 제12연대.

활동개요 :적은 이해 춘계공세에서Qui Nhon과 Pleiku를 거쳐 Cambodia국경에 이르는
19번 도로상의 요충지인 An Khe 통로를 기습공격하여 한때 이도로가 차단
되었다.연대는 희생을 무릅쓰고 여러차례 공격을 감행하여 참담한 격전 끝에
638고지를 탈환함으로써 도로를 다시 개통하였다.

전 과 : 사살 705명.개인화기 70정. 공용화기 13문.

손실 :전사 75명. 부상 109명.


OperationAn Khe Pass

Enemy :12nd Regt of the 3rd NVA Div.

Outline: By a decive surprise attack during his Spring Offensive,1972,
the enemy had seized and occupied the An Khe Pass, the most
strategic point on the Highway 19 which links Qui Nhon, Pleiku and
the Cambodia border. The Cavalry Regt was committed onto the An
Khearea in order to regain the pass and completly restored the
whole neighbourhood in the long run after a series of the repeated
close battles

Results : Killed705 enemy, captured70 indiv and13 crew-served wpns.

Losses :75 KIA, 109 WIA.

killing the five Red infiltraters when he detected an enemy death band.
